Summer is almost here! My birthday, June 21 is the official beginning of summer and there are a few things I want to do before it gets too hot. Weather lately has been swell.
First thing: Nature Walks.
Not just at the park, or like Winton Woods. I want to explore and maybe camp. Red River Gorge would be ideal but anywhere will do. And I want to do some collecting and drying and preserving.
Next: Farmer's Markets.
Also just wandering downtown taking pictures and stuff.
Thirdly: Photobooth scavenger hunt.
Pretty self explanatory but I want to find them all around Cincinnati and get lots of pics for my scrapbook.

Today Didn't Suck
It might be the ever changing weather or the long, bright days, but lately I have accomplished a ton during my hours awake. I've started a new job and feel mostly optimistic about working both jobs at once. I'm only slightly tired most of the time. But I've been in high spirits almost everyday and that makes it worthwhile. Being able to get things done during the day has been great, especially when I have things to do outside. I've even been happily drifting room to room cleaning wherever it seems necessary. I'm content with how I'm living right now and I'm excited to be happy.
Currently:
Age : 23 (for one more month!)
Hair Color: Au natural for the first time in years. And I've been using a curling iron! Fancy hair.
Favorite things: Nag Champa, J. Gumbo's Drunken Chicken, my yoga mat, my scrapbook.
Job(s): Evergreen server, liquor slinging at Tom's

Studio Calico NSD Challenge!
I have really neglected my blog.
Trying to get back on track with a few posts of my Project Life updates!
This challenge was to use five different patterns, so I used the fabric from my current quilt project. I love using different patterns in the same layout so this was a fun way to include what I was working on!

List found here
It is my goal to shoot these before winter. The bride and pier might be tough because I'm not going to any weddings or coastal locations anytime soon. But I think it will be fun to search for things. I might start making lists like this more and keep them with me to do while I'm out.

Friday Favorites
Sushi. I have recently become smitten with sushi.
I never thought I'd eat raw fish willingly, but alas
something came over me and I tried some and loved it.
This is from Benihana for my best friend Jen's birthday.
My girl James. Sadly I couldn't keep her but she's still in my life.
I see her whenever I want. She is the sweetest little thing
but she's got a mean streak.
Elise's 27 Materials project. This is such a fun way to challenge yourself
to use different things that normally wouldn't be in your
usual routine.
Kaylah's nails. They are always so adorable and colorful.
They usually match her quirky personality and her
bright hair.

Lights
Wine and champagne glasses
Dining room chandelier
Candles from Ikea
I've been reading Elise's blog forever and love her photo inspiration posts.
This one is based on light. I don't really like my pictures, only the first one.
They're not very inspiring but it got me to shoot things with more variety.
Usually my go to shots are of my cats and my food.

Hello August!
With August I expect to see some changes in my routine. Work at Ikea will be more intense and I will be getting less sleep. I intend to work on my memory keeping more often, not waiting until the end of the month to cram it into one evening. My mom and I are going to have a yard sale at the beginning of September so there will be some crazy sorting of my attic's contents soon. Its very exciting what's going on around here. This month is for finishing projects and keeping busy. This month is for blogging more and slacking less.
Braid Wednesday

Celebrating braids today. I love wearing my hair braided but I'm not great at doing my own hair. I've never learned how to french braid, something my mom is really good at.
Have a great Wednesday!

Let's Have a Party
I have been seeing some great inspiration for parties lately whether its a kid's party or a wedding. In July I'm having a Beer Olympics party and I've been searching Pinterest for ideas and I haven't had much luck. But it hasn't stopped me, I'm still looking for awesome ways to decorate!

Friday Favorites
With the weather being incredibly beautiful, taking advantage of these long spring days is becoming easier and easier. I want to get out in the yard and start planting things and sitting in the backyard with a glass of wine. I also cannot wait to get my tent and camping stuff out this year to sort through it and buy all new things! These things get me inspired and ready to roast some dogs by the fire.

How cool would it be to sleep in this?

Good morning May, its nice to see you. I am surprised
to see you so soon. It seems just yesterday the weather
was changing and there was snow on the ground.
But I am glad you decided to show up. In just
one month many things will be approaching...
One of my closest friends is getting married
and I am a bridesmaid. My family trip to Myrtle Beach (!).
My twenty third birthday. So May, its great to meet you.
I know we will get along just swell.

Project Life or Jump Off the Bridge
I took the plunge. I ordered some page protectors to start Project Life. I have a ton of catching up to do, but I'm just going to jump into it and hope for the best. Its the last day of April now, that's four months that haven't seen ink, but I started a journal earlier in the year that with some luck I can turn those into the first stages of an album. I have a giant 12x12 I got for three bucks at Vally Thrift that will work perfectly, and hopefully I won't have to use more than two albums. But most likely, there will be multiples.
I am most inspired for project life by Alie Edwards, Elise Blaha Cripe, Jamaica, and Celine. I first found out about this project from Alie's blog and since then the amount of people following the trend created by Becky Higgins has increased exponentially. I love the way people twist and form their own versions of documenting their individual lives. This kind of intense journaling and collecting seemed daunting to me at first because it requires a ton of attention. I feel like I've written a post like this before. Actually I'm almost certain I have. Anyway, the more I stumble into pages of Project Life from the blog world I realize that this can be anything I want to make it. And that's also something on Becky's blog that she seems to repeat often. You don't have to follow any guidelines because you're making it for yourself. I did order some page protectors to get started; I think they will be a good foundation. I plan on making some of my own along with altering some I have currently to make them more unique to my style. Yay.

Just writing about it gets me excited to get started.

Things I'm Loving Lately: Curiosities
Feather and Moss
I love collecting things. Tiny things, shiny things, pretty things, ugly things, smooth things, funny things,
old things. I want to start collecting things like this.
Things that belonged to someone, or something else.
The Dainty SquidThese images have inspired me to get into the woods and
find magnificent pieces of nature and the past.
I have seen some amazing collections on Etsy that
are for sale that I wouldn't mind having.
