Oh, Yea..Halloween Happened.

I never posted my pictures from Halloween!
I went quiet from the blog world but I might as
well get back into it.

My best friendy and I went together, and
we portrayed none other than Wayne and Garth.
It was magical.I tried teasing out my hair and it lasted for about fifteen minutes.
But it was fun messing around to achieve the perfect bed head.

I painted the logo from Wayne's World on a hat
I got from my local thrift for Jennifer to wear.
And I searched forever for a plain black shirt
but there were none to be found. So we just turned one
inside out, and it worked just perfectly.

Fall Journal Pages

These are some of my favorite pages from
my fall journal. I was going to do it through December
but I decided to do a December Daily album
because this one was getting so thick.
I tried following a structure where I did a
weekly page, but it just wasn't my thing.
So here they are.

I watched my cousins overnight and Hannah and I
worked on our scrapbooks all night.
It was so fun.

Frenchie Love

I just thought I would post some adorable
little munchkins that I can't stop squealing over.
I love Frenchies, and I would love to have one.

I mean, how can you not love that face??

New Years Nails

With the new year fast approaching,
I wanted to share some of my favorite glittery
styles from my Pinterest.
...Click For Links...
I love how this looks, like the glitteries are falling off the nails.
And the color is perfect.

The glitter used here looks like the dipped their
nails in actual silver, let it dry and sponged
it a little. Very classy and feminine.

I wish I had the patience to do this.
I think I would use a different base color for
the holiday, maybe a dark red or purple.
Or matte black even.

Just glittering the very edge of my nails is hard
because my nails are barely there haha.
But I could see doing this just on my thumbs, since
they are the longest nails I own...and maybe nude or
white on the other nails, who knows.

Hopefully one of these styles inspires you
to ring in the New Year fiercely, glittery claws waving!

Happy New Year!

Five Things Friday: Holiday Edition

All of Rachel's Holiday decorations. I love the little white tree with
pink trim and the Merry Christmas glitter sign. Every
part of her vintagy Christmas makes me smile.
Last year I took inspiration from her pink and teal vintage
ornament tree and got myself into collecting yet another
thing. I just love the idea that someone, years ago, enjoyed
the same ornaments I have on my tree.

Elsie's Holiday gift wrapping ideas. I have some old
National Geographic s that may just have to
be dissected to use some of the maps for my presents
this year. And that feather and sparkly pipe cleaner
really make the package.

The Twelve Days of Christmas Projects by
Rahel Wenig of Swiss Girl Designs. I love her scrapbooking
style. I love her lightly tinted photography. I love that kitty.

Elise Blaha Cripe of enJoy It always something crafty-cool
going on. I love her new place. I love her projects and I
love her journals. They're not so much about the amount of content
as they are about the quality of the moments captured in the
pictures and stories. So many scrapbooking/journals out there
are littered with decorations and her simple style really makes
her photos shine. And I love the way she layers pages so they
look like they go together as you're turning the pages.

Since I started reading And Then She Saved, I've begun to
think about how I spend, not just how much or what I'm spending.
She really gives you a look at sensible spending in a realistic
way, that makes me see how I can do it in my life,
in my own way. I've been stressing over buying gifts and
having time to make gifts, and yesterday I finally sent
out my cards, so I have a little stress off my shoulders.
Reading through her blog puts things into perspective and
makes me think of whats really important.

Dollhouse Progress

I've made a sofa.
I had a lot of fun doing this one. The cushions are stuffed
with tissue paper and napkins haha.
I also have a bed frame in the works made from
a Starbursts box covered in balsa wood to look like
its all wood. Once it has a "mattress" on and sheets
and what not I'll post it. I made a little floor lamp
and a chandelier thing out of wire too.
My next step is going to be starting to paint
the walls and finish the flooring. I want to do a nice beige in the
living room to go with this sofa and maybe one wall with some
other color. I made some wall art at work for the living
room and the kids room where I sewed fabric squares
to cardboard frames. I think they turned out pretty cute.

I'm a Giant

Finally. A part of blog world I feel I can really relate to.
Lately I have suspended my project to deconstruct my childhood dollhouse
because of a lack of space, but this project makes me want to clear space
to start working again. Not only is this totally awesome
but Emily Henderson, of Design Star fame is the crazy genius who
came up with the idea.

Here is some inspiration:

And this is my favorite part of my dollhouse that
I've redone. I need to get to making some more furniture.
