Cool Findings

Adorable self made business cards by Katie Sokoler of Color Me Katie.
Everything I see on her blog is inspiring and lovely
and so creative. She's got the cutest cat Moo too.
Cutest hippo I ever did see.

Glass Beach. After years of having trash thrown into the ocean
in Fort Bragg California, the beach seen above
has become tiny, smooth grains of glass.
Fascinating and beautiful. Read more here and here.

Killer etchings on nickles. These are so neat I just love them.

Sewing Inspiration

I wish I could knit. I wish I could knit, because I would have thousands of these
hexagon guys lying around ready to be made into yet another honeycomb quilt.
A beekeeper, if you will.
I would make the loveliest of quilts, have the stiffest of hands,
if only I could knit.

If I could knit, I'd have tons of granny squares puddling at my feet, waiting
to find out their purpose, which would be covering my toes
in the winter when I'm cold, but not cold enough to just put on socks.
If I could knit, I would also have knitted myself a pair of socks.

A to Z of Cassidy, That's Me

Age: Twenty two. I'll always be young at heart though.Bed size: Full. I don't see the point of getting a queen
because it doesn't really make that much of a difference.
Chore you hate: Laundry. It is all the way in my basement,
and I hate having to carry all my clothes haha.
Dogs: I have a Jack Russel Terrior named Bogie
and my mom has a Shepard mix named Vegas.
Essential start to your day: I usually shower right when I get up,
if not I usually hit the snooze once or twice.
Favorite color: I don't really have a favorite. I love a lot of colors.
I have a lot of green things, and I really like rust colored things.
Gold or silver: Silver. I don't wear a ton of gold jewelry.
Height: 5'7
Instrument you play: I wish I could play the guitar.
Job title: I'm a sales coworker at Ikea.
I specialize in living room furniture

Mother's name: Teresa
Nicknames: Cass, Beef, Pattie
Overnight hospital stays: Never
Pet peeves: Having the TV on while trying to sleep
Quote from a movie: That is hard. I love so many movies...
Right now it would be anything Lloyd Dobler from Say Anything has to say.
Righty or lefty: Righty tighty.
Siblings: Three step siblings; Kelli Carley Ray.
Time you wake up: It varies.
Underwear: I have a lot of Vicky's Pink undies.
Veggie you hate: I've become more adventurous over the years
with veggies, but I still hate celery. Its gross.
What makes you run late: Myself. I'm pretty much prone to lateness.
X-rays: Once on my finger when I smashed
it in a car door, once on my knee when it was hurting,
always on my teeth at the dentist.
Yummy food you make: I don't really have any special
recipes that I make, but my mom can make the best
homemade chicken noodle soup and chili I've ever eaten.
Zoo: I love the cathouse. And the giraffes.

Scrapbooking; My Journals

I love scrapbooking, but I tend to do it untraditionally.
I don't do layouts that have any rhyme or reason ,
but sometimes I like everything to be very clean
and precise. At the same time, sometimes I like things to be
very cluttered and haphazard. I guess that's just my personality.
Here are some photos from my most recent journals.
The first is one that I thought would include all of 2011 summer,
but I had to split it into two because there was so much stuff.

This is St Patrick's Day, and I didn't take that many photos,
so I made up for it with the little collage and the beer mugs and
the photos from an Anthro catalog. It doesn't really make sense
that there is a horse, but I like it all the same. This one is a collection of images I love from
an other catalogue that just look good together.Gaga. Period.I don't know why I just love this little fish thing with
the colors and the randomness of it.
Another post will include some from the second half
then another from my most recent journal,
the one I like most so far. Fall.

Artist Spotlight

Here are some artists I find intriguing. I admire people who
come up with interesting and new ways of expressing themselves.
But first, here is me with an orange bull:

The Embroidery of Sarah Hennessey. Found on Mr. X Stitch.
Photo links to her Flickr.

Cement Eclipses by Isaac Cordal. I have seen some of these photos
in the past but just recently came across his Flickr through this
article on Visuall.
NotCot gives me all my favorite images. Always.

National Geographic's Faces of the World Galley. My favorite photos were this one above, taken by Phillipp Aldrupp
and below, Camel Seller, by Soumya Bandyopadhyay.
And I can't deny that I love this one called Boy Wearing Mask, by Jessica Collins.
Quentin TrollipI've seen his work popping up all over the internet on different
blogs I follow and I just can't help but love it.Making such accurate and adorable sculptures out of toilet paper rolls
cannot be easy. I love the bear most.
